Morayo Afolabi Brown and Mother, Kudirat Alao Aka- Bashorun
I struggled to post anything today. It’s my first birthday without my mom. All my life, I shared this day with her. Exactly this time last year, we celebrated her 75th. It was our last celebration together.
Today I received calls and text messages from my mom’s inner circle; Aunty Ramota, Aunty Latti, Mrs. Adesokan, Mrs. Shittu, Mama Wisdom, Mrs. Adebowale, Aunty Kofo, even Bros Rogers.
Their calls and messages brought tears to me because they all would ordinarily have called mom today but she’s gone for ever.
That last slide was almost like she was telling my late Dad, “Sweetheart, you’ll be seeing me soon”. Miss her so much. Need her now more than ever.
Frankly, I have a lot to be thankful for. However. today, I chose to reflect. Thank you all for your kind messages.
