Mum Was Simply But Surely Exceptional.

MUM TURNED MANY TO “CRYBABIES”!

She chose my wedding anniversary-July 24th-exactly one week ago-to commence her eternal journey.

That day, despite my appreciable emotional strength, some close associates saw me crying-not once, not twice.

I later realized however that there were better “criers”.

Indeed, the first prize of the crying award over mum’s transmigration goes to 75 plus old uncle Adeleye-who came visiting with his wife and cried till he could cry no more.

Surprisingly too, the second prize goes, not to my US-based siblings-Bola Korubo and Kemi Ogbolu-despite their serious crying which still occurs occasionally, but to my strong and highly principled brother – the Provost of NIJ-who I learnt spent the better part of 48 hours crying- that mama Gbemiga has relocated.

Guess the third winner?

Yet another surprise.

It wasn’t any of my remaining siblings-Omorinsola Ajumobi, Lawunmi Best or Bukola Ladigbolu; it was 70 plus old daddy Apollo -a Deeper Lifer whose cries reminded me of his requests many times to join me to Ibadan to visit “your wonderful mother”.

Now, why these cries over an 84 year old? Mum was simply but surely exceptional. She was a friend of all, a peace maker, a special adviser, solicitor and advocate, a confidant, and a very generous, prayerful and God fearing woman.

“The world would say”Won’t she die? What is the big deal over the death of an 84 year old”?

YES, THEY ARE RIGHT, BECAUSE THEY KNOW NOT THE ANGEL GIVEN TO US AS MUM.

If you still have a mum who is a mother indeed, please appreciate her, make her happy EVERYDAY. Ask for her wishes, talk to her a lot before it is too late, and more importantly, prepare her for eternal rest in Heaven.

Oh, the tears are back again!

May God help the seven orphans she left behind. May we all live longer than she did, and be more God fearing than she was.

May her relocation be a sacrifice that will open Heaven to grant all our desires in God’s will.

May her burial turn hundreds of sinners to saints, and may you and other sympathisers have a special testimony within the next seven days in Jesus name!
