Nigeria’s pride and musical export, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has once again showed how much he values the memories he shared with his mother, with a letter he wrote to her after her demise.
Davido at many times referenced his mother, Veronica, who died on March 6, 2003.
The letter reads:
“Sweet mother, how much I love you, and how much love you gave to me. Despite my stubbornness, you were there to correct me. I miss your warm hugs, lovely kisses, and your lovely smile. You are a rare mother. You are one in a million. You will always be on my mind. Rest in peace, mum.”
Davido has continued to be a strong force in the musical industry. He has also used his platform to immortalise his mother, making her twice as famous as he is.
And just has he continues to top the charts, by fondly eulogising his mother at different occasions, he lays a framework for other musicians who have lost loved ones to emulate.
