Abisola Akintuyi, has an unwavering commitment to educate as many women as possible on the need to be breast aware as a way of combating the dreaded breast cancer.
This pet project of hers, in memory of her mother, Janet Akintuyi, began when she was a Youth Corp member in Akwa-ibom State. For her, it was a way of not just getting over the loss but also of immortalizing her mother.
She has taken her campaigns to schools, religious organisations, institutions and many other places that are willing to spare their women folk from going through the trauma of losing loved ones to the disease.
She does that successfully, using personal anecdotes and raw emotions to connect with her audience.
